Prospective International Students of Anshan Normal
University
1.Prospective students
Anyone between 18 and 60 years of age, healthy,
agreeing to abide by the laws and regulations of
P.R.China and Anshan Normal University (A.N.U.), and
paying the prescribed fees, can apply to study
courses of his/her own choice according to his/her
own desires and proficiency in Chinese.
2.Classifications,
qualifications, and educational objectives of the
international students are as follows

Long-term Students of Chinese The students must be
under 60 years of age, healthy, with a senior middle
school educational level or higher. We also accept
the students at different levels and the students
who register late during the semester. Courses:
Integrated Chinese (Intensive Reading), Economics
and Business Chinese, Listening Skills, Conversation,
Reading Comprehension, Newspaper Reading, Writing
Skills, tutorship of HSK etc.. Students can achieve
good marks after studying for the HSK exam. When the
students complete their studies, the Certificate of
their completion courses will be awarded. Students
can start their studies in March or September.
Students must study for one semester or more.
Short-term Students of Chinese Language and Culture
The students must be under 60 years of age and
healthy. Usually a study group with at least 12
students who have nearly the same level of Chinese
is acceptable. Private applicant will be placed in a
class depending on his/her proficiency in Chinese.
This program is designed to train students to master
Chinese pronunciation, basic grammar and general
ability of Chinese conversation in a short period of
time. It also sets out to assist students in
learning Chinese history, geography, customs and
arts etc.. The style of study includes classroom
study, lecture series, field trips etc.. The
detailed course content and timetable can be
arranged according to demands of the group. The
Certificates of Completion will be awarded to those
who complete the courses successfully.
‘One to One’ Chinese Stud and Practice The
students must be under 60 years of age and healthy,
with a senior middle school educational level or
higher. We also accept the students at different
levels of proficiency in Chinese. In the “One to
One” study and practice program, the international
student will be assigned a teacher to develop and
practice his/her level of proficiency.
Regular Student Enrollment The students must be
under 60 years of age, healthy, and with an
educational level of second year in college or
higher and obtain rank 6 in the HSK exam or higher.
Study in a university department or school for more
than one semester. Choose between 3 and 5 major
subjects and study with Chinese undergraduate
students. The Certificates of Completion will be
awarded to those who complete the courses
successfully.
Advanced Studies The students must be under 60 years
of age, healthy, and with an educational level of
Master or higher (or the same level of Master or
higher) and rank 6 in the exam of HSK or higher.
Study in a department or school for more than one
semester. Study with graduate students and have
their own tutor. The Certificates of Completion will
be awarded to those who complete the courses
successfully.
Undergraduate Students The students must be under 40
years of age, healthy, and with a senior middle
school educational level or higher. For Arts,
students must get rank 6 in HSK exam or higher, for
Sciences, students must get rank 3 in HSK exam or
higher. Arts: Primary Education, Pre-schooling
Education, Chinese Language and Literature,
Journalism, English, History, Accounting, Tourism
Management, Administration Management;
Science: Educational Techniques, Mathematics and
Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electronic
Information Science & Technology, Chemistry,
Applied Chemistry, Biological, Computer Science
& Technology, Electronic Science &
Technology, Machinery in Designing, Production and
Automation, Information Management and System;
Art and PE: PE Education, Sports, Photography, Fine
Arts, Art Designing, Music.
Students who successfully complete stated courses
according to the teaching plan will be awarded
Graduate Certificate by the Ministry of Education of
P.R.China.

5. Extracurricular
Activities
Ⅰ.1 or 2 Chinese university students will be
introduced for free to each international student as
‘one to one’ language mutual help friends.
Ⅱ.Language practice
courses start every semester, such as the courses in
Taiji, Chinese calligraphy, traditional handcrafts,
learn Chinese songs Chinese home visits, field trips
to famous scenic spots around Anshan etc..
Ⅲ.Take part in the
activities held by the Chinese government, such as
receptions, speech contests, composition contests,
international mountain climbing competitions etc..
Ⅳ.Take part in
invitation to activates held by A.N.U. Chinese
students, such as the international competition of
football, basketball and music etc..
Ⅴ.The university will
organize to travel.(such as Beijing, Dalian, Dandong,
Changbaishan mountain of Jilin province, the largest
Jade Buddha, and the famous Qianshan Mountain of
Northeast China etc..) The university will pay half
of the total cost of travel.
6.Methods of Application

Ⅱ.The Admissions
Office for International Students will inform the
applicant if he/she is accepted within 10 working
days after receiving all documentation and fees. The
office will send an Admission Notice and a JW202
Form (Visa Application for Foreigners Wishing to
Study in China) to the approved applicant. The
applicant can apply for an Entry Visa with the above
2 documents from the nearest Chinese Embassy or
Consulate. The applicant can enter China with an X
visa (Student Entry Visa) or an F visa (Visitor
Visa).
Ⅲ. Approved Applicant
students should register at the Admissions Office at
an appointed time with their Passport, and the
original copy of their Physical Examination Record
for a foreigner including the original laboratory
test report on HIV and syphilis, Admission Notice,
and 8 passport-size photos.
7. Points for Attention
Ⅰ. There are 2 semesters in an academic year,
the fall semester (September 1st to January 1st) and
the spring semester (March 1 to July 1st).
Ⅱ. All the students
should register at the university immediately after
they enter China. The School will help students
apply for a Residence Permit, prolong the Visa and
deal with some other documents within 10 days of the
entrance day. Otherwise students will be fined by
the appropriate government departments.
Ⅲ. If an accepted
applicant can’t register at the appointed time,
he/she should notify the university in advance.
Otherwise his/her status as an accepted applicant
will be automatically annulled.
Ⅳ. Tuition fees and
accommodation fees should be paid in full within a
week of enrollment to the University. Fees should be
paid in full if he/she studies less than one full
semester (including one semester); if he/she studies
more than one semester, these fees can be paid
separately according to the semesters.
Ⅴ. Students who decide
to leave the university within the first two weeks
of commencement of studies will be refunded 70% of
their tuition. Students who decide to leave school
within the first four weeks of commencement of
studies be refunded 50% of their tuition. Students
who decide to leave school after four weeks of study
will not receive a tuition refund; accommodation
fees can be refunded according to the duration of
their start living at the university. The
application fee is not refundable.
Ⅵ. For an airport/railway
pick-up, the group (at least 10 persons) or one
person should inform the office of the exact arrival
time and flight/train number ahead. Individual
airport pick-up fee: about US$30.
Ⅶ. Photocopies of the
Form of application for International Students of
Anshan Normal University are valid.
